The Cannes Film Festival is go, and the riviera's red carpet is one of the most spectacular of the year. 

Yesterday saw two major premieres, for The Search and In The Name of My Daughter, and both Lara Stone and Sharon Stone were in attendance – in very different dresses.

On Tuesday night the De Grisogono party brought a flock of models out in their finest, from Rosie Huntington-Whiteley to Cara Delevingne. It must have been warm because Maryna Linchuk was almost topless.

Marion Cotillard was also out and about in two dresses – a short, heavily beaded shift for a photocall during the day and a ruffled step-hem gown for an evening premiere.

Thursday night saw Blake Lively continuing to rule the red carpet as the modern answer to the ultimate Hollywood starlet at the premiere of Mr Turner.

On Wednesday events kicked off with the long-awaited premiere of Grace of Monaco, and Nicole Kidman shone as brightly as the icon she plays in an intricately designed Armani Privé gown.
