Style from the hip streets of Brooklyn
From Bushwick to Bedford Avenue, Brooklyn is alive with a very specific creature that it spawned in the early years of the twenty first century: The Hipster. Nobody quite knows how to define it, or whether they are one themselves – or whether that's a good thing or a bad thing, in fact. Suffice it to say that this New York borough is stuffed to the gunnels with bright young things.
Their style is a mash-up of comfort and cool, blending pragmatic and grungy pieces with uptown and directional quirkiness as well as nostalgia and a vintage feel. Across the bridge from the more polished and compulsively groomed women of Manhattan, Brooklynites value the natural look (not too natural, of course) and strive to keep their style quite down to earth. Of course, that doesn't mean they don't still look all kinds of fabulous.
