Bid on Kate Moss

by

Kate Moss is being put up for sale - well, art inspired by Kate Moss, at an auction by Christie's from 21-25 September. Curated by collector and presumed Kate-fan Gert Elfering, a number of works by Chris Levine, Sir Peter Blake, Allen Jones, Nick Knight, Juergen Teller and Mario Testino can be yours for a price.

Elfering told Vogue that 'Kate is the ultimate modern muse and we will be seeing her images in major museums and private collections for years to come', and it's not just the artists included in the auction that she's inspired. Before painting a nude Lara Stone, British artist Marc Quinn controversially cast the model mid-yoga-pose, in gold, and she was one of the last women painted by Lucian Freud, before his death in 2011. Indeed, it's not just the art world she inspires, with entire shifts in clothing culture easily ascribed to Kate.
