Central Saint Martins is one of the most prestigious fashion schools in the world, drawing international fashion talent to its hallowed halls and turning out designers and industry players who quickly rise to the top. So of course its students are a well-dressed bunch. And for over a year now, CSM senior lecturer and stylist Jo Simpson has been documenting her students' fashion choices on her popular blog, Fashion on the First Floor. 

'I have always been interested in documenting fashion trends, my MA thesis at CSM in 1999 was on London street style,' Simpson tells us. 'I am always looking for interesting looking people with their own style, identity and personality that reflects in the way that person dresses.' The name of the blog derived from Simpson's first-floor office at the CSM site in Clerkenwell but even as the institution continues with its move to the campus at King's Cross, Simpson will continue blogging at Fashion on the First Floor:  'I have decided to continue documenting my students' trends as it has been inspiring for myself and I have had fashion photographers and large brands contact me as a result of the blog ... The new location for the foundation course at King's Cross is a melting pot for 4,500 students under one roof, so expect many more photos.'
