A new look for Louis Vuitton in its latest ad campaign

With an autumn collection and a Monaco-based resort show under his belt already, designer Nicolas Ghesquiere feels part of the fashion furniture in his role at Louis Vuitton. And while each offering has been acclaimed and appreciated with all the vim and vigour of an industry waiting with bated breath, it's easy to forget all the excitement and anticipation that built up before the curtains opened on his tenure there.

But the latest ad campaign from the house brings all of that rushing back. It's stark and stylish, and completely Ghesquiere in its stylised retro-futurism. Gone are the baroque backdrops and epic scenes; Ghesquiere's focus at the brand is as tight as those cinched leather waist belts he keeps sending down the catwalk.
