Never Underdressed's assistant editor Kelly Bowerbank on her Nike Air Max trainers

These are the first pair of trainers I’ve been really excited about since about 1996. I see women (especially in the Never Underdressed office) wearing trainers all the time and looking great, but when I put them on I just look like that person who had to nip to the corner shop to get milk. But no one puts on silver Nike Air Maxes to just run boring errands do they? No. No they do not. I love them because despite the fact they are inherently casual the metallic finish actually makes them feel quite smart – they can make a proper ‘look’ out of a very  run-of-the-mill outfit.
