There are some fashion and beauty trends you're happy to see the back of, and others whose passing you mourn more than you expected to – for the former, think bandage dresses and hair mascara, the latter bootcut jeans and extra-hold mousse. (Anyone else noticed that every conversation turns to bootcut jeans eventually?)

But however you felt about those items the first time round – your first time around that is, for these items are invariably as old as the hills – you might feel completely differently about them the next time they crop up. Because they will. Oh, they will: it's always the ones you least expect.

There are more, God knows, but these are the ones in the spotlight right now for you to enjoy, guilt-free and in the knowledge you're 'on-trend' – even though, six months ago, you probably would have referred to each and any of these as your 'guilty secret'.
