Village Bicycle’s Willa’s London haunts
From going out to galleries, eating out to entertainment, the in-crowd gives us their recommendations.
Willa Keswick has just re-opened her cult boutique, Village Bicycle, in East London’s trendiest district, just off Brick Lane. Having originally set up shop in Notting Hill, Willa has got plenty of London tips under her (undoubtedly vintage) belt, a few of which, she’s shared here with us.
My favourite local is the The Scolt Head Pub in Dalston, they play great music and it has an amazing atmosphere. The food is also really good!
For a Saturday night, the best place is defiantly Kubical (House DJs include Lee Foss, Clive Henry plus more). It’s run by Liz Mendez and Sonia Andersons.
I like to spend a Sunday afternoon in the garden after roast from The Marksman pub in Hackney.
My favourite place to eat right now is this great Spanish tapas restaurant called Barrafina on Dean Street in Soho. It’s the best!
I download most of my music from iTunes but if I buy CD's then I head to Rough Trade East. It’s opposite our new store and it’s got everything.
There are so many different varieties of food in East London, it’s great. The energy is so youthful and vibrant.
I love West London too because it’s got a homely feel. I grew up there so everything is so it feels so familiar to me.
If I lived somewhere out of London, it would have to be in L.A. Everyone is so friendly, the sun is out and it has a great music and fashion scene. What more could you want?
If I only had £5 left in the world, I’d spend it on penny sweets!
