Make a bee-line for this Guerlain exclusive
What is it about bees that is just so captivating? The real things themselves (so much nicer than a wasp), a gilt gold version on a pendant or on a honeycomb patterned cuff from Alexander McQueen, they hold something quite special. Another bee object d’art that cannot go unmentioned comes from Guerlain, and is perhaps the most legendary of them all.
The brand’s renowned Bee Bottle was originally created many moons ago in rich, 24 carat gold. Adorned with 69 intricately designed bees it was first presented to Empress Eugenie, wife of Napoleon III, a whole 160 years ago. At this moment, Napoleon gave the brand the very prestigious title of royal perfumer. Bien sur.
It was then in time that the beautiful icon of the bee became synonymous with Guerlain, which still use the symbol across a range of their existing lines today. And in celebration of the flacon’s 160th anniversary, a limited edition Golden Bee Bottle is available at Selfridges, NOW.
From today until the 22 August, you will find the exclusive (and unbelievably beautiful) bottle to mark this joyous occasion. It comes in a luxurious gold or white finish and in 250ml, 500ml or 1 litre measure bottles. Not a doubt about it, you need to make a bee-line for them.
Visit the Guerlain counter at Selfridges or call 0207 318 3852 for more details.
