Ok, I've got a confession to make. Now and again I get an acute case of 'blonde-envy'. Well, actually, it's whenever I watch Legally Blonde (that close-up at the beginning of a long golden mane being brushed in slow-motion is pure follicular pornography). 

Back in 2001, Elle Woods and her swishy flaxen locks inspired a whole generation of girls to apply for law school (or in my case, think about going and then give up after reading one book). For those of us who weren't cut out to be legal eagles, it was Elle's snappy suits and bouncy blow dries we coveted, as our pink-clad heroine fights to be taken seriously among her more straight-laced fellow students at Harvard Law School.

A film that spawned SO many one-liners we can’t count them all ('OMG the bend and snap – works every time …') it taught us not only to have faith in ourselves at all times, but also about the redemptive power of a killer 'do. And why having an extensive knowledge of perm maintenance can actually come in handy in the middle of a murder trial...
