Jean Paul Gaultier has been shocking the tabloids, thrilling the fashion world and dressing pop princesses (Madonna, Kylie and er, Marilyn Manson) for 35 years now, and we call it about time that the French couturier has a retrospective devoted to him. This September tickets go on sale at The Barbican for the first major Gaultier exhibition, bringing together around 140 avant-garde couture and pret-a-porter garments, including Madonna’s deliciously notorious conical bra-corset worn during her 1990 Blonde Ambition World Tour, and costumes created for the films of Pedro Almodovar and Luc Besson.

The Fashion World of Jean Paul Gaultier: From the Sidewalk to the Catwalk will run at The Barbican in London from 9 April 2014-17 August 2014. Tickets go on sale in September 2013.
