Karl takes Coco to Dallas
Later this year, Karl Lagerfeld is indulging his inner-cowboy and hosting Chanel’s Metiers D’Art presentation in Dallas, and he’ll be bringing a bit of Coco to the show too, with a short film about the time the label’s namesake designer spent in America in the 1950s.
Filming is set to commence in Paris this month, with an appearance from Rupert Everett and Geraldine Chaplin in the role of Chanel. Karl commented that the mini-movie will be in ‘old Technicolor — like [Paris] Match photos’, and we hope it turns out to be like the chicest ever episode of Big Rich Texas.
We’ll have to wait until December to see if it is, but in the meantime, there’s Karl’s surreal video for Chanel’s pre-fall 2013 collection to keep us entertained. You could play model bingo as you watch almost every famous face from the catwalk right now, including Cara Delevingne, Lindsey Wixson, and Edie Campbell, file mid-gossip into a cinema to a foreboding soundtrack.
It’s like David Lynch meets Mean Girls. Imagine Li-Lo and Lynch, now that’s a collaboration we’d like to see.
