Kiss me Cara
It’s a mystery to us just how the always lively model and face-puller extraordinaire Cara Delevingne even stays awake, such is the social schedule that saw her party at both the Met Ball in New York and launch of Chanel’s short film in Singapore just a few days apart. And that’s before you tot up her omnipresence in all the hottest fashion campaigns. Who hasn’t seen more of the gurning onesie-fan than they have of their own mother lately?
The latest instalment in Cara’s life-circus: a sexed-up editorial with her Instagram co-star Rita Ora, shot by Rankin for Hunger TV, shows London's (hell, the world’s) party queens engaging in some girl-on-girl action that makes the term wifeys, as they’ve been known to call themselves, seem a lot more literal.
Appearing only days after Cara posted pictures of her snogging Sienna Miller, and looking intensely pre-kiss with fellow model Chanel Iman, The Mail inevitably asks if the model may be a lesbian (probably not), while the rest of us are left wondering, does the girl whose face is everywhere from YSL’s new Babydoll masacara ad to Jourdan Dunn’s kitchen really need to rely on the same trick that attention-seeking girls at every student union in the country have been pulling for decades and snog their BFF for the boys (definitely not)?
Sure, Cara’s cool, and her studded Met Ball look was one of the few examples from the evening of how not to look like you’re on your way to a punk fancy-dress hen night, but any more ‘shock-lesbian-kiss’ teasing and Cara fever could quickly turn into Cara fatigue.
