It’s time for the big summer reveal, and we don’t mean in the swimwear department. With the temperatures edging higher, it’s time to show a little more skin and allow sheer fabrics to take their moment in the sun-soaked spotlight.

Sure, it’s well known that the see-through trend has been bubbling along for a couple of seasons but for summer, see-through paneling and peekaboo cut-outs have gone stellar.

Thanks to the likes of Chloe and Stella McCartney, silhouettes are softer and sorbet and foundation shades have been added into the mix for an altogether more romantic feel. Feminine yet daring, this is where sexy meets pretty.

But before we go any further and fears of over-exposure start ringing alarm bells, we must point out that good underwear is key.

Lacey camis and crisp white vests will become your new best friend when it comes to playing with proportions (and transparencies) while layering, doubling up of sheer fabrics and and new lingerie will all do the trick.  After all, you don’t want to be showing your nipples and getting a Rihanna-style Instagram ban now do you?
