The glossy style history of Spain's new queen
Why there isn't already a charming Hollywood rom-com about a newsreader who falls in love with a prince and ultimately becomes the queen, we don't know. But maybe there's one in the pipelines now, because former television journalist Letizia Ortiz Rocasolano's husband has just been crowned King Felipe VI – which makes her Queen Letizia of Spain.
It's not like we've only just noticed her, though. As Princess Letizia, she has long been one of Europe's most glamorous royals – alongside our very own Duchess Catherine, of course – and last year made Vanity Fair's Best Dressed List. Her style hints at her career as a newsreader: sleek suits and dresses, pointed court shoes and glossy, immaculate hair.
We're likely to be seeing a lot more from Spain's new queen consort. In the meantime, click through the gallery for some of her most notable outfits of the last decade.
