A party isn't a party unless there's an opportunity to sit down afterwards and discuss all the gossip in juicy detail. Thankfully, Anna Wintour and Sarah Jessica Parker were given that chance yesterday on the US chat show Late Night with Seth Meyers. 

Some tidbits of gossip that we especially enjoyed:

1. SJP confesses that she was 'reprimanded' by Wintour for being overly chatty with guests on the reception line. 'She talks too much!' explained Wintour. 'She's so polite!'

2. Wintour's reception-line technique, SJP explains, is much more brutal. 'She understands brevity. She offers a hospitable hand and without using any words, is able to communicate that that's all that will happen.'

3. Wintour reveals – shockingly – that she is not a hugger​. 'The worst is those people that you've never met in your life before, that want to hug you in a major embrace. So you just have to step back and say "How do you do?"'

Frankly, we wouldn't want a load of sweaty New York millionaires queuing up to hug us either. Thank god Anna Wintour is flying the flag for British propriety. Watch the full interview below.
