Downton's Daisy Lewis is wearing an animal Onesie this Christmas

Our twelve days of Christmas quick-fire q&as bring you seasonal cheer from someone fabulous every morning until the day itself

Having previously appeared in Dr Who, actress Daisy Lewis joined the cast of Downton Abbey this year as Sarah Bunting, the girl who wins Tom Branson's heart after the tragic demise of Lady Sybil. With a new series, The Last Debutante, which she's penned herself with Emerald Fennell, set for 2014, it looks like next year will be no less of a rollercoaster than this one for Daisy.

Do you watch Downton Abbey when it's on?
I watched it before I was even in it, so that was even weirder, sitting with my parents on our usual Sunday night in front of the TV, but I was in it. You put a lot of work into everything, but not necessarily a lot of people see it, so then to sort of do a show which is almost a national institution, not just in England, but internationally is amazing.

What do you wear at Christmas?
We've got another family spending Christmas with us and my mother, who’s somewhat eccentric has ordered these animal onesies for everyone. There’s a rule that family and guests must wear them. No cameras allowed!

What do you eat at Christmas?
We do a black tie Christmas Eve supper for about 30 people and Christmas Day lunch as well. My grandmother was Danish so Christmas Eve is Danish, with roast goose and caramelised potatoes. The table is laid out in a very specific way, covered in gold stars and all of the decorations are wooden. The tree is only decorated with lametta. It comes from Denmark, it's actually metal, not the plastic stuff that you get here. Then on Christmas Day I cook Christmas Day lunch, and that's the usual turkey and things.
