The age of polish monogamy is dead and gone. We’re no longer faithful to a single polish, choosing to arbitrarily flirt with whatever colour takes our passing fancy. In fact, we won’t stop until we have in our possession every shade imaginable – Pantone charts have got nothing on us.

So when summer creeps this tantalizingly close, those post-box reds and deep berry hues that got us through winter just won’t do, will they? We want acid brights, off-colours, wrong colours, sunshine colours and happy colours. OK, this is largely because we can't seem to wrestle ourselves from a wardrobe of navy, black and white but it's still progress, right? No, now we're hankering for a colour for every day of the week, for every occasion or on a whim, for every texture and we want it all that without having to make a  catastrophic dent to our bank balance. Is that too much to ask?

With that thought in mind, we’ve scoured the planet (or, the high street at least) in search of the most summery shades to bathe your nails in and they’re all less than £5 (yes, you read it right), to ensure happy faces and happy purses all round.
