Meeting the Parents: Kate Moss and Jamie out with Hince seniors
Kate Moss and Jamie Hince went for lunch with his parents, Carole and William, near their home in the Cotswolds this weekend and it turns out that rock stars have parents that look exactly like everybody else’s mum and dad. Mrs Hince looks sensible, warm, firm and friendly, and it’s pretty obvious by the way she’s cosying up to Kate that she’s one of those mums who secretly likes her offspring’s partner a tiny bit more than her actual offspring. Meanwhile, Mr Hince is a pretty dapper guy, who surely disapproves of Jamie's style.
We imagine what they might have to say to James over the roast beef...
Carole: What on earth has happened to your bandaged hand darling? I imagine it has something to do with high jinks and Rhys Ifans, does it? There is something about that chap that simply makes me shudder.
William: Did those clothes shrink in the wash James? I’ll never understand why you insist on wearing clothes that look like they belong on a quite small 16-year-old. And what type of 44-year-old man wears a hoodie? I’ll pick you up a blazer that fits properly next time I’m getting one in John Lewis.
Carole: When are you going to make me a grandma? Eleanor and Ed’s youngest daughter Rose just had another baby girl so they have seven grandchildren now. And they’re all really quite wonderful.
William: So when’s the next album out? Have you started writing it yet? You haven’t done anything in a while, have you? How’s Alison? I’ve always liked Alison.
Carole: You really should go and play golf with your father next week. He’d never say it but he really does feel awfully left out when Peter Robinson takes Mark and Ed takes David, and he’s just on his tod.
