What the Frock: Kate Bosworth
Our panelists on the latest and greatest celebrity looks

Oh Kate. Always the ethereal vision that most of us can only dream of looking like. She looks like that perfect trophy housewife mixed with a bit of Betty Draper chicness (without the dominating curves, of course). The fitted cut of the dress, the on-trend positioning of the envelope clutch, the formal yet totally elegant shoes. Kate, you never fail to deliver.

The actress Kate Bosworth is here channelling the look of a 1980s TV set after the aerial has been pulled out. Aside from toning rather well with gravel, the chaotic black-and-white pixel print is clearly a subtle comment on the absurdity of modern celebrity – where any intelligent conversation is drowned out in a 'white noise' of speculation and innuendo. But note how she styles this into something composed, even rather chic, with a demure collar and an elegant bias cut. I own this madness, she squeals softly.
Laura Silver, writer at Never Underdressed
For someone whose outfits are heralded as inspirational, you could fairly accuse Bosworth of being a bit boring with her style sometimes but here she proves that playing it safe isn’t always such a bad idea after all. Sensible accessories alongside the print of her dress avoid any garishness that colourful ones might encourage and actually just look really chic. Plus, if you had as great a handle as Kate does on messy waves and perfect no-make-up make-up, why would you stray?
