Saint Laurent ads fuel our love for model Grace Hartzel
She's no flash in the pan, Grace Hartzel. Though her name may not trip off the tongue as steadily as say Lara Stone or Daria Werbowy yet, she's started to solidify a pretty stellar modelling trajectory in the last few months.
The latest ripple in her steady stream of exposure is today's release of the Saint Laurent Pre-Fall and Permanent Collection images and animation on the brand's global website. And cementing Hedi Slimane's support of emerging musical talent, you can view each image against the brooding guitar of Miles Kane's 'Why?'. It's a clever trick - one which will make you instantly question why you don't own a wardrobe full of it, not least a big old chunky fringe curving into your kohl-rimmed eyes.
We first introduced you to Grace during the recent Paris shows, in which she opened for Saint Laurent, an honour reserved only for creative director Hedi Slimane's favourite girls. Hers is a beauty that is at once nostalgic (like Stevie Nicks meets Chrissie Hynde) and achingly-modern. She's got that boy-girl thing down pat, without somehow being too alienating. She's the cool girl with the ace leather jacket that every girl wants to be, but failing that, you'd be quite happy being friends with.
The rebirth of the Saint Laurent brand has found a muse which feels as intrinsically entwined with the brand as Hedi himself. Not only that, but a muse whose beauty and style book we can all take a leaf out of too.
