At the couture shows, the weather is a major talking point. That's because it's so difficult to gauge: muggy Paris heat or sudden downpour? As it was there was both, which makes packing particularly tricky.

Here are some of the bits I took with me to Paris this week, in an attempt to combine easy, smart pieces with summer-and-shower-proof chic, as well as (very important, this) a nice dose of comfort.
