Molto Milano! Street style from Design Week
The Italian city of Milan is a place for aesthetes and design lovers. Not only does it celebrate its own fabulousness twice a year during fashion week, it also attracts a slightly different cool crowd with its internationally renowned Salon del Mobile, a week of exceptional design that spans interiors, lifestyle, furnishings and – yes – a little bit of fashion as well, and ended on Sunday.
You'll spot the difference between the Design Week crowd and the fashion crowd immediately: there's less plumage, fewer straight-from-the-runway looks, and no Anna Dello Russo. But there's every bit as much reliance on a power handbag (think Celine and Alexander McQueen) and the graphic allure of monochrome.
