They're sporty, they're bang on trend and they'll probably divide opinion from your non-fashiony friends, but pool slides are big news for summer.

They appeared in many guises on the catwalk - bejewelled at Marni with platform foam soles and at Prada they were more sandal/trainer hybrid - like a fashion version of those sandals you wore in the sea when you were a kid.

The high street has responded fabulously and there are some great pairs of pool slides around for the season. Keep the lines simple, you're either looking for a simple strap across the toes, or a criss-crossed front (these are probably the most flattering). Wear your pool slides as you would any other pair of sandals, they're great with jeans or a summer dress, or for extra fashion points wear with socks.
