Olivia Palermo is queen of the high-low mix
Lauren Conrad left a big void when she departed The Hills. But then along came the superbly dressed Olivia Palermo, and once again all was right with the fashion reality TV world.
That was back in 2008 and since then Ms Palermo has remained a regular on best-dressed lists, street style blogs and catwalk show front rows the world over. During fashion weeks we are bombarded daily with photos of her looking stunning; there are news stories dedicated to dissecting her outfits.
This fascination is obviously down to her impeccable style, but the noteworthy thing about it is unlike some of her peers, she doesn't just rely on very beautiful and very expensive designer clothing. Clearly she does wear items with eye-wateringly large price tags, but her charm is in her knack for pulling high street pieces into her wardrobe. Reiss, Topshop and Zara all sit happily alongside Givenchy, Hermes and Matthew Williamson. Which is why that army of fashion fans have remained loyal since 2008.
