On Saturday Keira Knightley was out in New York wearing Chanel at the premiere of her new film Begin Again, while as Spiderman 2's premiere parade hit New York on Thursday, Emma Stone set the red carpet bar high in an elegant pink Prada gown. Over in London Jennifer Lawrence hit celebrity hangout of the moment, Firehouse, wearing a sleek black jumpsuit and even sleeker bob as she grows out her crop, accompanied by none other than Tom Ford. 

The latest uber-host at the Tribeca Film festival is society magazine Vanity Fair, bringing out the likes of Anna Wintour, Christy Turlington and writer Fran Lebowitz despite blowy conditions and – yes – low-ish temperatures. What could this cold spell mean for the Met ball guests next month?

The previous evening at the film festival, the fashion crowd had joined the party for the Chanel Artists Dinner. Julia Restoin Roitfeld, Joan Smalls and Hilary Rhoda were among those on the red carpet – plus Greta Gerwig, who'd already made another red carpet appearance in an entirely different outfit earlier in the day.

The UK might have paused over the weekend for Easter but there was no such lag in New York, where Katie Holmes and Sophia Loren were among those attending film premieres. Elsewhere in the city, beneficent New Yorkers turned out for a gala to support the city's need children, where Crystal Renn and Emma Roberts bumped up the star count.

And on the opposite coast in LA, Cameron Diaz, Kate Upton, Leslie Mann and Nicki Minaj were celebrating the release of their latest film The Other Woman.
