Let's face it: when you're a celebrity, every day is 'your special day'. On any given Tuesday, your wish is everyone else's command and all eyes are on you. Unless you're at your best friend's wedding, and you're the bridesmaid. That's pretty much the only exception to the rule.

In a world where we treat celebs as higher beings, it's fascinating to see a Hollywood star or world-famous model don a lilac dress – the same one as three other bridesmaids, naturally – and obediently hold the bride's train for her, or stand back while someone else poses for all the photos. It reminds us that famous people have normal (sometimes non-famous!) friends; they're even able to put their egos aside and wear something they didn't choose themselves (even if they secretly think it's hideous.
