What’s this? A Victoria’s Secret Model paints hair black too
Knock me down with a feather. First news of Abbey Lee’s killer black crop as seen in the new Gucci campaign, swiftly followed by the completely unexpected sighting of Lindsey Wixson’s Joan Jett-esque hair. So here you go, your third and final (or perhaps not?) bit of hair news, which comes in the sleek shape of Candice Swanepoel as the new face of Blumarine. Yes, look, the hair, the hair. Gone are those long, blonde lengths that the Victoria’s Secret model is so associated with; in comes a moody, black as night cut that manages to be feminine yet full of attitude at the same time.
What’s rather charming about these images is that, for the first time, we get to see Candice NOT in a baby pink, push-up negligée clutching a Jack Russell puppy in her arms. Thank god. Here, we get to see her looking much more mature in a new found persona that’s full of drama, mood and mysteriously coy sex appeal (of the less blatant kind). And really, bar the red lipstick (courtesy of make-up artist Wendy Rowe), it’s all down to that glossy, slicked back crop. Nice
