Fashion fighting talk

by

Giorgio Armani is narked, and it looks like it might be with Miuccia Prada. In an interview with WWD discussing his support of young Italian designers, and of keeping Italian fashion at Milan Fashion Week he commented, ‘Someone said there was not enough time to produce two runway shows during the same week, but this is a motivation that does not [satisfy] me — I do it’.

To whom could be referring – Mrs Prada perhaps? After her husband Patrizio Bertelli told the same publication that a Miu Miu show in Milan just days away from Prada’s would be ‘ materially impossible’, that could be so?

It’s not the first time Giorgio has been outspoken in his views on fellow Italian designers, telling Roberto Cavalli late last year that ‘the “Little King” could start to get angry’ when the extravagant designer labelled Armani with the royal moniker in a sharp-tongued blog post.

Meanwhile, Vena Cava has got its knickers in a twist over the proposed plagiarism, by Alice + Olivia, of one of their prints, and has taken to Instagram to confront the label. In a statement released to Fashionista however, Alice + Olivia designer Stacey Bendet cited a vintage screen in her office as the influence for the floral print.

Let’s just hope the hot summer months on the horizon don’t get any more designers all fired up.
