Fetch the tulle! Revlon to collaborate with Marchesa
It was only this time three Fridays ago that we shared with you the tremendous news about beauty giant Revlon and its exquisite collaboration with Sophia Webster. How joyous that was. And today comes the broadcast of another remarkable join-up for the brand, this time with designer to the stars Marchesa. Revlon, you really do know how to spoil us…
Over the next year, three key beauty collections will debut and one can only imagine how highly coveted each will be. We’re thinking palettes and pencils to rival those silk and crystal encrusted gowns.
Marchesa co-founder Georgina Chapman – Harvey Weinstein’s beauty of a wife – is naturally, thrilled about the whole thing. "When we were first approached by Revlon about a potential collaboration, Keren and I were really excited about the chance to partner with an iconic brand that believes, as we do, in making a woman feel beautiful while remaining true to herself.” Wise words, Georgina, wise words.
With today’s exciting glimpse of the debut collection, it looks like it’ll be a trooper. First up is nail art, but very elegant and ladylike nail art. Think 3D jewelled appliques based on those couture gown designs, embellished with sparkles and diamanté and enough shimmer to send a magpie into a spin.
Typically Marchesa, the colours are wonderfully chic too – regal silvers, teal and ruby red shades. No, really, it’s that flipping good.
So yes, that’s it. And just as Marchesa has transformed the likes every red carpet-worthy soul to date, so these initial gems are set to change the face of nail art for the better. The big question is: who’ll be the first star to match their dress to their appliques? My money’s on Rihanna stepping up to the mark.
