Live from the British Fashion Awards

The British Fashion Awards are a big night for the industry, a huge celebration of all that is good and great about fashion in the UK, a night when rock stars rub shoulders with designers, and professional beauties battle it out to be crowned 'model of the year'. We already know three of tonight's winners – Kate Moss and Suzy Menkes are to receive  Special Recognition Awards and husband-and-wife Terry and Tricia Jones will receive the Outstanding Achievement 2013 for i-D, the magazine they founded in 1980. There are sure to be plenty of surprises too though, and plenty of fabulous, fabulous Instagrams so keep tuned.

21.05pm: Burberry campaign star Sienna Miller awards Burberry with Brand of the Year.

21.04pm: A candid JW Anderson collects the award for New Establishment Designer.

21.02pm: Jack Whitehall, not just a pretty face.

21.00pm: Erdem wins the Red Carpet award.  

20.57pm: Marc Jacobs is on to stage to present the Special Recognition award to Kate Moss, 25 years after being mesmerised by Kate Moss by Corinne Day. She's 'perfectly imperfect' he says.
 

20.54pm: Miuccia Prada wins International Designer. 'I'm really happy,' is her heartfelt response. 

20.53pm: Edie Campbell wins Model of the Year. 

20.51pm: Lots of lovely thank yous in the speeches: Sophia Webster thanking Nicholas Kirkwood, Simone Rocha thanking Louise Wilson, Lady Amanda Harlech thanking Issy Blow. 

20.50pm: And yet another winner is announced.

20.46pm: Winner number three is announced. 

20.44pm: Winner number two. 

20.41pm: And we have our first winner of the night.

20.38pm: Host Jack Whitehall has started with the bantz.

19.45pm: Will Kate do a hair swoosh when she picks up her Special Recognition Award tonight? Hope so. 

19.33pm: The London Coliseum is the fancy-pants venue for tonight's festivities.   

19.12pm: Erdem, nominated for the Red Carpet Award tonight, has Instagrammed a picture of himself and Alexa Chung. Coy smiles all round.

19.05pm: Poppy Delevingne seems to have recovered completely from her hen do. 

18.58pm: The Twitter hashtag #BFA stream is being cluttered by One Direction fans due to Harry's appearance on the red carpet. Sigh.  

18.45pm: Michael Whitehall, father of the event's host Jack Whitehall, has revealed that his son is wearing a suit by the very fancy tailoring firm Thom Sweeney.   

18.40pm: Well it wouldn't be a party without Harry Styles, now, would it?

18.35pm: The gowns are loud and proud. Of course we would expect nothing less of Susie Bubble but look, there's the fabulous actress Hayley Atwell looking properly fashion in Holly Fulton. 

18.30pm: Ooh now we have lovely red carpet vines. Wonderful pouting and squinching and smizing.
