Why I'm Wearing: the team tells all
Never Underdressed's editor Carrie Tyler on her Azzedine Alaïa boots
It was halfway through Milan fashion week. I’d seen three weeks of fashion shows and hadn’t bought a single thing. The urge to shop always starts in Milan and usually revolves around footwear. It’s much easier to make snap decisions on shoes: you’re in, you’re out, it never happened.
A staple of any trip to Milan is a visit to the Corso Como sale shop on via Tazzoli where you find cut-price everything. There’s tales of £75 McQueen dresses and Prada coats for £150. Sadly bargains never find me and I’m too lazy to search very hard, but on my last visit - opposite the entrance - were these beautiful Alaïa boots. 50% off no less, but still £550. They are a tad too high and I fear for my life on cobbles but they look great when sitting at my desk.
