Burberry and Google have a digital love-in, launch Burberry Kisses

by

In a world where we share beloved photographic memories in (very public) social media channels and where a frankly embarrassing amount of our most meaningful conversations are shared not over a glass of Malbec, but in cyberspace, it's quite heartening to learnt that, digital innovation can be warm and fuzzy too.

At least, that's the message behind the result of a revolutionary new partnership project between Burberry and Google - in support of it's 'Art, Copy, Code' initiative - entitled, quite adorably, Burberry Kisses. Spearheading new technology that allows users to capture and send their real kisses and watch them fly across the world, it playfully posits a much-needed human touch back into the digital space that surrounds us, or as Burberry puts it, 'bringing the emotion back into technology.'

'We're constantly thinking about how we translate the emotion of what we create and experience in the real world into the digital space,' explains Burberry Chief Creative Officer, Christopher Bailey, 'whether that's capturing the energy of a live gig, the hum and buzz of anticipation before a runway show, or just the feeling you get when you pull on your trench coat on a rainy morning.'

'Burberry Kisses began with the idea of giving technology a bit of heart and soul, and using it to unite the Burberry family across the world - by telling a story that makes the digital personal.'

And in doing so, Burberry just might have recreated the concept of courting for these modern times. How clever.
