Lena Dunham has posted a picture of herself filming season three of Girls splashing around in a bikini on her Instagram with the title ‘biiiig spoiler’. 

What she’s spoiling  is unclear as there is no sign of the other familiar Girls characters, namely Adam; although it does seem to represent a departure for Hannah, who we are used to seeing unclothed or in her underwear in the context of cocaine experiments or ill-advised sex, less so while engaged in vigorous, wholesome outdoor activities like paddling.  

Her hair is still cut in its short Carey Mulligan-inspired crop, and Andrew Rannells is in another picture she posted from an on-location shoot, indicating that Elijah  is still present in Hannah’s life despite the fact that she demanded he move out of their flat last season. 

In a third picture, she poses in a ballet position with an older, balding man wearing a tracksuit. 

What does it all mean? Why all the activities? Is Hannah interested in health and exercise now? What happened to the OCD? Is she going out with the old, bald man? Did he bring her to the seaside? WHERE’S ADAM? And when is season three going to start?
