The Latest Big Names Linked To Burberry: Sienna Miller and Tom Sturridge

by

Sienna Miller and her actor fiancé, Tom Sturridge, are set to follow in the footsteps of Romeo Beckham, Cara Delevingne and Eddie Redmayne by starring in a new Burberry campaign, according to reports that surfaced over the weekend.

The New York Post said the dashing, but often charmingly dishevelled, couple will star in the brand’s autumn/winter 2013 campaign but Burberry is not expected to confirm the signing until July.

Even without confirmation, the rumour has got the internet chattering and while it’s not quite Romeo Beckham territory – news of his Burberry debut was met with countless column inches and unprecedented levels of exuberant tweeting – it does feel like typically apposite timing on Burberry’s behalf.

Miller has recently started to engage with the press again following the birth of the couple’s daughter, Marlowe, last summer, and she granted a much quoted interview to French paper Le Figaro last week, outlining her newly sedate life: ‘My 20s were a bit crazy. I spent those years working and being repeatedly persecuted by the media. Nowadays, I can be the woman I truly am, more calm, and freer too.’ The 31-year-old is nominated for a Bafta for her performance as Tippi Hedren in BBC’s The Girl and her next role will be in Foxcatcher with Channing Tatum and Steve Carell.

Meanwhile, Sturridge is performing opposite Alec Baldwin in a Broadway production of Orphans (Ben Foster also stars, having replaced Shia LaBeouf, who left the production after falling out with Baldwin). At its recent opening, Miller and Sturridge seemed to hint at a Burberry collaboration, with both wearing the British label: Miller in a classic trench coat and Sturridge in a natty suit. Suki Waterhouse, the British model who is romantically involved with Bradley Cooper and has just landed her first Hollywood role, has also been linked to the label’s autumn/winter 2013 campaign.
