Louise Gray: out of LFW but into the light
London Fashion Week is going to be a much less colourful landscape this September, as Louise Gray takes a two-season hiatus from showing her own collection on the catwalks. The designer will be taking the time out from her six-year-old eponymous label to focus on consulting for other designers and brands, and to work on collaborative projects with her creative crew of London fashion friends.
In a statement the Scottish designer said, 'It has not been an easy decision to step away from my own label, but at the same time, against the backdrop of a tough economic climate, I didn't want to jeopardise a business that I have worked so hard to build.'
Gray has previously lent her kaleidoscopically colourful design vision to brands such as Topshop and cashmere label Brora, and has even collaborated with Barbie for part of her spring/summer 2013 collection. And if you can improve on Barbie, then you can do pretty much anything, which is why we’re excited to see what fruits her new collaborative sabbatical will produce.
Here are nine of our favourite ever Gray moments, just to put you in the mood. The future's bright.
