Kenzo, kerb and krazy fun at Lovebox
We tell you what to do 18th-24th July
Kenzo your comfort zone: you dress yourself up in your favourite designers, so why wouldn’t you do the same with your home? Just landed at Selfridges is a range of bed and bath products from label-of-the-moment Kenzo, so you can have one of their wild feline prints on your bed or get some towels in their signature vibrant colours to add some brightness to your bathroom. Get down this Selfridges at the weekend before it sells out.
Do a little turn on the catwalk: Street style is as huge as what you see coming out of all the designer houses these days, and on 21st July, you’ll have the chance to see it paraded on one place, rather than just on your favourite blogs (or by playing hawk-eye on the street). Thanks to Regent Street’s traffic-free weekends, it will be transformed into a temporary catwalk, so you can either look on at some top London style, or strut your own stuff. Six shows will take place from 1pm-5.30pm.
Kerb your enthusiasm: It wouldn’t be the weekend without a hella-hip street food festival and this Friday 19th July, the food trucks will be rolling into Peckham’s Bussey Building car park for Kerb. For its SE15 stint, the roving food festival will host vendors including name-to-know, Bao, who are doing the best steamed pork buns around You Doughnut for anyone with a sweet tooth and of course, many obligatory burger sellers. The night starts at six, with free entry, and with music and bars, will no doubt turn into one big street party before it finishes at midnight.
Feel the Love: one of London’s top music festivals, Lovebox, is back in Victoria Park from 19th-21st July, and not only is the weekend going to be another scorcher, there’s some pretty rad acts on the bill. For some style as well as ear candy, Goldfrapp will performing on Sunday, and if her new video is anything to go by, she’ll have a top wardrobe planned, and if a metallic, print, anything-goes mash-up is more up your street, head to see Azealia Banks on the Friday. Plus, you know the street style will be mega, so eyes peeled.
Throw a shrimp on the Barbie: when Jeremy Lee took over as head chef at Soho restaurant, Quo Vadis, it once again became a favourite haunt of the style set. With Shrimpy’s being one of the top summer hangouts for cool crowd, it makes sense that Jeremy Lee would pop up as one of the many guest grillers. So head down on the 21st July and enjoy his critically acclaimed food in the sun with a margarita.
