What the editors are wearing at couture fashion week
The clothes on the couture catwalk in Paris might be championing trainers and sliders this week, but the memo has yet to filter down to the editors and buyers attending the shows.
Still reluctant to give up those 5 inches, the street style at couture was as slick as you'd expect. Even when editors chose to dress things down a bit in denim, the look was always finished with heels. Note: there is a change with these heels though. Gone are the days of the statement art shoe, this season editors prefer very simple court shoes and boots, and if there is a jazzy print, it's to be found on a classic style.
The style at couture this season is a lesson in how to dress well in winter. There's a couple of notable exceptions of bare legs and too few layers (nothing screams car service like no tights), but in the main, being sensibly dressed was the remit. And that doesn't often happen at fashion week.
