The trainers fuelling a footwear addiction
News Editor Harriet Walker on her Nike Fly-Knits
I never used to be a trainer person; I put them in a sportswear bracket that I was confident of never revisiting once I stopped bunking off PE at school. Some people look good in sportswear - the posh girls. I just look like I couldn't be bothered to find some real shoes. But that's precisely the joy of the new generation of classy, chic trainers: all the slobbiness with a dash of smartness. They're slimline and pretty and streetwise. I blame it on Isabel Marant wedges and Nike x Liberty collabs acting as gateway drugs, but I find myself in the grip of a new addiction to buying trainers of all different designs and colours. These are my new favourites and – you guessed it – they are soooo comfy.
