SAG stars have got the blues

by

Come on you blues! Where stars largely chose to co-ordinate with the red carpet at the Golden Globes last week, at last night's Screen Actor's Guild Awards, inky shades of indigo and cobalt were the colours of choice for top film and television actresses.

Amy Adams was the leader of the pack in an electric blue Antonio Berardi dress of asymmetric proportions, as she and the rest of the stars of American Hustle collected the award for outstanding performance by a cast.

Twitter was alight with 'blue crystal' jokes when Anna Gunn turned up wearing a glittering sapphire Monique Lhuillier dress, giving more than a nod to Breaking Bad's illicit inanimate star. And it wasn't just her drug nod dress which paid tribute to the show, the cast of which collected an award for outstanding performance by an ensemble in a drama series - her clutch was decorated with the scientific symbols we've become acquainted with on Walter White's journey. Good work, Gunn.

Fresh from her giffable behaviour at the Golden Globes, Julia Louis-Dreyfus collected her award for best lead actress for her role in Veep wearing a super-chic two-tone blue by Monique Lhuillier.

Fellow Veep star Anna Chlumsky also went one-shoulder blue, with this statuesque navy column dress, while the whole world said, 'OMG My Girl's fabulously grown up'.

Homeland star Morwena Baccarin looked like a brunette Grace Kelly in a dusky Monique Lhuillier gown.

Modern Family received official congratulations with an award for outstanding performance by an ensemble in a comedy series, and its star Ariel Winter gets a thumbs up from us for this watercolour mixture of blues by Badgley Mischka.

Kelly O got personal praise from her dress' designer Zac Posen, who RT'd praise for the star's look on twitter, and it's well deserved for how well she wore the purpley hue of blue.
