What Rihanna has taught us about lipstick
In what is probably the most ginormous meeting of minds since Isabella Blow met Alexander McQueen, we bring you the long-awaited collaboration between Rihanna and make-up mega brand, MAC lands in the UK tomorrow, after months and months of us pretending to be less excited about it than we really are.
She's lent her rude-girl-meets-Chanel style to many a fashion giant before but this is the first time badgal RiRi has traded on her admirably bold signature beauty style.
Set aside her chameleon-like approach to hair and you'll find an experimental, make-up enigma lying beneath. Which is, among a sea of scrubbed-clean model faces, really quite refreshing.
The collection, named RiRi hearts MAC and designed by Rihanna herself, includes a Powder Blush Duo, £20 and MAC's brilliant Lustre Drops, £17.50 in a rose gold hue, entitled, fittingly, Barbadian Girl, £17.50. But truly, it's all about the lipsticks. Three pow shades (see below) that span everything you could want in a lipstick, a deep velvety red, a wearable violet and a gothy burgundy.
All of which makes it perfect timing to trawl through the archives and revisit what Rihanna has taught us about lipstick wearing thus far...
