Rachel McAdams makes us all want to go red

As fans of The Notebook (not I) will attest, Rachel McAdams is about as vanilla as they come. Don't get me wrong. She's a brilliant actor, I mean, who couldn't love her pitch-perfect delivery of 'So you agree, you think you're really pretty?' as Regina George in Mean Girls? But when it comes to talking about the cut throat world of high fashion and red carpet style, hers would not be the first name I reach for.
But, what's this? The usually buttery-blonde Rachel has gained serious style ground with a new strawberry blonde, coral-like hair colour, showcased last night at the London premiere of About Time. Suddenly, the pretty Hollywood blonde becomes a fiery goddess-like powerhouse, helped not least but her distinguished yet minimalist outfit, from Roksanda Ilincic's resort collection.
The greatest thing about having hair that sits somewhere on the red spectrum is that it's incredibly flattering to the all skin tones, simply because the same pigment in red hair is present in skin, so it's likely that at this very moment, in a fabulous parlour somewhere in a London hotel suite, trying out red lipsticks, pink lipsticks, jade green eye shadow and a varying density of brow and having a jolly good time doing it.
Red hair is fun. It's naughty. Quirky. While it lasts. I lasted three months. But, if she's anything like me, she'll be scratching at the door of blonde in no time.
