Earlier this week, we discussed the pros and cons of fancy versus functional sportswear, with one of our writers arguing that fashionable sportswear provides a much-needed incentive to exercise. She meant Nike’s Liberty-print trainers or a pair of Lucas Hugh leggings. She didn’t mean spring 2013 Dolce & Gabbana. But that’s what Anna Dello Russo chose to jog about in yesterday. Combining the 'smug workout selfie' and the 'holiday selfie', Dello Russo uploaded a ridiculously fabulous photo of herself in a crop top and mini-skirt, which she accessorised with a pair of hot-pink New Balance trainers. Meanwhile her designer friend Andrea Incontri posted a picture of her actually running in the outfit, accompanied by the equally glamorous but perhaps more appropriately attired Giovanna Battaglia. Later, Dello Russo posted a picture of herself and Battaglia in their bikinis and shades, flanking Stefano Gabbana, the results of their exercise regimes visible in slender limbs and flat stomachs.
