As she hosts her much talked about Rock n’ Kohl Festival at Selfridges this week, Charlotte tells us about her special, homemade scent and her Tom Ford fixation
  
‘From a young age I was always stealing my mother’s perfume. I have had so many over the years but I have never truly found the one so I decided to start mixing my own. I love perfumes that stay on the skin for the whole day and I find that the many of the fragrances of today don’t always have that effect.
 
Growing up in Ibiza I always remember the luxurious and comforting smell of rose. My mother used to use rose based products and perfumes so it has become one of my favourite scents of all. I blend a mix of rose, neroli and some other secret ingredients to create my perfume and I am never without a bottle of it. I live for my summers in Ibiza – it’s such a magical island filled with a melting pot of artists and creatives. It always takes my mind off work and I feel instantly relaxed every time I go back.
 
I have always loved scent because I think that they are like a woman’s signature and you will always remember the person who was wearing the gorgeous perfume you could smell. I really love Tom Ford perfumes, he makes the most divine scents. His Neroli Portofino fragrance always reminds me of luxurious holidays in the sun and Tom Ford Noir is so sexy and intoxicating on a man. I love playing with and mixing aromas and it’s something I am really passionate about. I would love to one day make my own fragrance. People always comment on my perfume and ask me where I get it so perhaps one day...’
