How to look nonchalant in a suit
Wearing a suit is a power trip. ‘Failure is not an option’ it says, as it lights up a cigar and counts its wads of cash.
But there’s a new mood in suiting. It’s less about highly charged ‘do it like a dude’ sex mentality, and more about digging your hands in your pockets and achieving the perfect slouch. This season the tuxedo takes a back seat, so leave the hair straighteners and patent spike heels at home, and instead just add flats and diffidence.
Rita Ora followed in the brogue-clad footsteps of famous cross-dressers such as Marlene Dietrich and Katharine Hepburn when she went for a late night visit to the hairdressers in London yesterday. Her cropped pant suit looked boyishly charming paired with an un-tucked shirt and brogues, thus hitting the nail on the head for how we want to wear our suits now.
