Naomi Campbell bestrode the catwalk like a colossus at the Atelier Versace show in Paris this evening, wearing a fur-tufted cardigan and cut-away bodysuit.

She opened and closed the show, which was the first on this week's couture schedule in the city, to appreciative cheers and clapping from the audience. Campbell is, Donatella clarified after the show, the ultimate Versace woman.

'1st time in 15 years,' tweeted Lisa Armstrong, fashion editor of The Telegraph. 'As far as we know, no phones were harmed in the making of this fashmoment.'

Uma Thurman and Mena Suvari were also among the crowd at the show in the neo-classical Chambre de Commerce building, which heralded the close of a successful season for the label, in which creative director Donatella has also hosted the designer JW Anderson at the helm of her diffusion line Versus.

The couture shows continue tomorrow with Christian Dior.
