Broderie Anglaise is probably one of the prettiest of fabrics, but Rose Byrne proves it can also have edge, wearing Christopher Kane resort 2014 to last night’s Blue Jasmine premiere in Los Angeles.  

Angular edge, that is, with the embroidered cut-outs zig-zagging around her body for a modern, structured look, as opposed to winding and weaving as they usually do to create a unfailingly sugar-sweet style.  

It makes sense really, like a rose with a thorn, the things that are truly prettiest always have a dark side.
