Karlie does the Rick Owens triangle-head for new Daft Punk video

by

The Rick Owens hair from his spring/summer 2013 show was an absolute hoot.

Well, to put it simply, it was a triangle-head. Completely different to anything else from this season, it looked like each model had had a serious session with a Van de Graaff generator, causing a vision of static, out-there, mile-wide hair with the texture of a thatched cottage roof.

It’s got a touch of the Grace Coddrington about it too, with its frizzy and protruding nature. For all its wacky weirdness, it was almost certain to be a style that would never see it past the Rick Owens show venue, but how wrong we were… because here’s Karlie Kloss, admittedly owning the triangle-head.

Shooting on the streets of New York with music duo Daft Punk, her hair comes courtesy of mega hair stylist, Malcolm Edwards. And despite the sticky heat of the city and nosy crowds that gathered to watch, he did a stellar job, popping up between takes to primp and er, widen her hair an inch more.

It’s got to be said, Karlie Kloss could look good with no hair at all, but it works because she looks so happy with her triangular style. And no wonder – lest we forget that in The Da Vinci Code, the triangle is a symbol of greatness and power.

Da Vinci Code aside, let’s be honest about this for a second. It’s not exactly something that people will be copying en-masse, but for all its triangular obscureness it’s pretty dam cool. And well done to Karlie for totally working it.
