OK, so you're very much in summer mode. But if it's a little alarming to hear that autumn clothes are arriving in stores, try to put that to one side and focus on the exciting news: we've got an exclusive sneak peek at the Whistles autumn/winter collection.

If you're a fan of the brand's sleek aesthetic, the new season won't disappoint. There are slouchy, luxe knitwear pieces to be paired with sharp skirts and trousers, and plenty of interesting textures; this oversized ponyskin clutch (pictured above) looks amazing with the softer-than-soft angora sweater in antique pink. We also hear word of a leather sweatshirt, which is already going on our autumn wishlist.

Naval and military influences run through the collection, with interlocking chains printed onto silk, and camouflage-like jacquards. As usual, the outerwear looks tempting - particularly a longer-length sheepskin aviator jacket (pictured below).

We're also pleased to hear that Whistles will be showing at London Fashion Week for the second time in September. The brand joined the line-up for the first time last season, attracting international fashion editors. It's moved beyond the high street into high-end territory - but still at an accessible price. We don't want to wish away the summer, but autumn's not looking so bad...
